Illyria... land of music, martinis and mayhem. When poor bereaved Viola is washed up on the shores of this hedonistic island she finds herself way outside her comfort zone. So she takes the obvious path of dressing up as a boy, getting a job in a nightclub and falling in love with her boss. Well, who wouldn’t? Unfortunately one of her main duties is to woo rival club-owner, Olivia, on her boss’s behalf and Olivia of course ...falls in love with her. Him. Whoever... Oh come on, it wouldn’t be Shakespeare without a healthy dose of unrequited love and a spot of transvestitism would it? So, what bangs like Pete Tong, has more sauce than a bottle of Carry On Ketchup and cruel streak Simon Cowell would be proud of? It could only be 12th Night.
Set in the saucy, lusty, hedonistic land of Illyria this 21st Century take on 12th Night embraces the Bard’s bawdiness and brings it bang up to date. Parental guidance advised.
